At the frontier of the maritime world, just opposite the port of Saint Vaast la Hougue and 30km from Cherbourg, the island of Tatihou is the perfect place for nature, history and music lovers, and a favourite resting place for many seabirds.
Tatihou has had an eventful past: it was the scene of the naval battle of La Hougue in 1692, a vauban fort was built there in 1694 and a quarantine hospital in 1723. There are also gardens and a maritime museum.
