Description :
Located on the ancient transatlantic harbour station of Cherbourg, witness of a grat past, La Cité de La Mer is a tourist, cultural and science centre totally dedicated to the human adventure underwater .
You will discover the unknown area far neneath the surface through a play and educational way around two main points :
The submarine centre: discover the largest submarine you can visit in the world
The ocean centre offers a kind of diving in the aquariums including the European tallest cylindircal aquarium.
You will get to exploring the deep sea to discover a strnage wold where darkness overcomes the area.
A area with various services , such as: restaurant , a café , snack, a shop a tourist information centre, a post office, a mediateque, a free parking

Open times: from 3 feb to 30 apr 2007 and from 1 oct to 31 dec 2007 : 10pm to 6pm
From 1 may to 30 june and from 1 sept to 30 sqpet 2007: 0.90 am to 6 pm
from 1st july to 31 august : 9.30 an to 7 pm
last entry one hour before closing
The site will be closed on monday 12,19,26 november / 3,19,25 december and Monday 1st janurary 2008
